It really has been a strange season, so far, as far as Marcus Bettinelli is concerned.
When the 2018 / 2019 season started, Bettinelli found himself out of favour, a few games into the season and the 26-year-old was suddenly flavour of the month,
The goalkeeper had regained his place in the Fulham starting eleven and his performances earned him a call-up into the England squad.
The future definitely looked rosy.
But, as Bettinelli has found out, things can turn around so quickly in this sport of ours.
A poor run of results saw Bettinelli lose his place and the goalkeeper hasn’t been able to regain it.
Today, lurking in the pages of the news vehicle, the Daily Mail, is that Bettinelli could be set to leave the club.
Our referenced source is inferring that another struggling Premier League club, Southampton, are looking at possibly acquiring his services.
However, whether Fulham decide that the player can leave is a question only a select few will be able to answer.
Personally, I’d be disappointed to see one of the heroes of our promotion winning campaign leave, but what are your views on the subject matter?
