The Cottagers may not have made the best start to the 2018 / 2019 Premier League campaign, losing both games, but they’ve in no way been out-classed in either of the games, against Crystal Palace (h) and Tottenham Hotspur (a).

Indeed, it is fair to say that in parts of each of the aforementioned games we’ve more than held our own but have been left to rue missed chances.

Slavisa Jokanovic has acknowledged that getting the team to gel, after bringing in so many summer signings, will take time.

However, lurking in the pages of a daily publication this morning, the Express, is the inference that Jokanovic has put-off talks relating to a new contract until after Christmas.

Our source goes on to imply that the boss has been offered a three-year deal.

Now whether Slavisa is simply interested in ensuring his side gets off to a decent start in the Premier League and doesn’t want the distractions of contract talks to blur his thinking remains questionable.

There are those who might try and sway your thinking that Slavisa may be keeping all options open, with speculation, during the summer, linking the boss with a move to another club, Chelsea being the perfect example to illustrate the point.

Personally, I’ve every faith that Slavisa is committed to Fulham Football Club and will be here for the foreseeable future, but is it something you concur with?

  • I honestly think he is a true gentleman and would not let down the club he clearly loves . COYW

  • He’s keeping his options open AND if he fails miserably in the first half of the season the club have new important information. If he does really well then he’d be of more value to us and so worth more money. Best of both worlds and another great decision by the big man

  • I believe he is an honest guy but is making sure he has maximum leverage in next transfer window if he feels he needs to pressure the board for further signings

  • I love Jokanovic and Fulham owes him a lot for making them relevant again. However he also has a track history of jumping to new teams after a short period of time. We will see …

  • I think he would rather sign a new contract with the team having a few wins rather than after 2 losses. Get a better deal for himself than the deal on the table now. If at Christmas he has the team near mid table or higher he can demand more.
